Hockey is back! The MOP **Saturday** pick'em and survivor hockey pools start October 15th. This is our free entry pick'em. We'll run this one until the end of 2022, and then start a new one after New Year's.

Once a week pick the winner of every game on the Saturday NHL schedule. Make sure to fill in the total goals tie-breaker for the late game. The weekly pick deadline is 7:00 pm Eastern, but for any games played earlier the pick for those must be in before opening puck drop.

This pool is open to all members. Join any time including after the season starts. Good luck! Also join free entry survivor pool.

Mike (Jan 1): Happy New Year! Congrats binionben winning the final week. Blades26 won the overall by a point over Elion7 and tomcatmc. I will open a new pool this week for the second half of the NHL season.

Mike (Dec 29 '22): Yep, that was it exactly, and just updated it. I still have a quirk in the last week of a pool where it defaults to the overall results as opposed to the current week. Haven't figured that out yet.

test1234 (Dec 28 '22): Mike, in the rules page I noticed you had December 31, 2023. Could that explain why it didn't find this week's pick page. When you click Overall in the table, and click Dec-31 it had Sun Dec 31.

Mike (Dec 5 '22): That was me this week Ben. I was up, got distracted with Christmas lights and totally missed the early start deadline.

Mike (Nov 6 '22): Fair number of upsets. Too Tall Paul wins the week.

Mike (Nov 5 '22): 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00 early starts today.

Mike (Oct 30 '22): Some upsets. Blades26 wins the week on the tie-breaker.

Mike (Oct 26 '22): Can we call it after 2 weeks? These are the best my hockey picks have ever been and it surely won't keep up.

Mike (Sep 27 '22): Huh, I tried to look that up and everything I read was regular season starts on the 7th. NHL.com site wasn't very clear identifying preseason from regular season games. I'll check it out.

test1234 (Sep 26 '22): Mike, not sure if you notice or did it by design but other than Nashville-San Jose in Europe, all the games on October 8 are actually Pre-season games. The first full slate Saturday night for regular season is October 15th.

Saturday Hockey Pick the Winners

Cozy up to the TV (screen, computer, tablet, phone, what have you) for Saturday night hockey!
Every week pick all of the teams you think will WIN their game (including OT and shootout)
No point spread, pick the straight up winners
Earn one point for each correct pick
Points are tracked weekly and overall for the season

Rules Summary

Starting the first week of your pool, pick the team that will win its game straight up (no point spreads) for every game on the Saturday NHL schedule.

If the team you picked wins, including the overtime and shootout results if necessary, then you earn one point. If the team you picked loses, then you earn zero points.

Points are tracked weekly and overall for the season.

The final pick deadlines for each week of the 2022-23 season, all times Eastern, are as follows:

In weeks with games scheduled earlier than the above deadlines, these games should be selected but picks must be submitted before puck drop of that game. This deadline applies to all remaining games for the week.

These deadlines will be strictly enforced! There will be no exceptions for picks not being submitted on time.

Default Pick

There are no default picks assigned for this pool. If no picks are submitted prior to the deadline for some of all of the games that week, then the entry receives zero points for those games.

Alternate Pick Submission

If you are having difficulty submitting your pick online, then send the pick by email to mike@myofficepool.ca. Make sure to clearly state the name of the pool, your username, entry number, week of the pool and picks. The email must be received time stamped prior to the deadline and from the email account associated with your username.

We take no responsibility for email being delayed past the deadline or not being delivered. Everyone should use the online system to make their picks and only send an email in the case of an emergency.
