The most popular sporting event on the planet, the World Cup!
Its been four long years since the last World Cup, and the
biggest pool in MyOfficePool.ca history.
That pool is back and ready for World Cup 2010.
In this pool, you don't pick the entire World Cup tournament before
the start. First pick the teams to advance from the Group Stage, then check back
each round to make your next picks. It keeps the pool active, and you're (almost) never out of it.
The deadline to enter is prior to kickoff of the opening game, Friday June 11th, 2010 at 10:00am
Eastern. You can edit your picks up until the deadline, so don't delay - get in the pool today!
You have two main options for your pool pleasure:

3. Invite your friends (no limit) |
~ OR ~ |

Small group? Large group? No problem, there is no limit, and there is no cost for this service. |

Rules Summary
1. Pick the teams you expect to finish 1st and 2nd in all 8 groups from the opening
round Group Stage of the World Cup.
2. After the Group Stage is decided, return to the website to pick the teams you expect to advance
from the Round of 16 to the Quarter-Finals.
3. After the Round of 16 is decided, return to the website to complete the same steps for the
Quarter-Finals. Then after the Quarters, return a final time to pick the winners of the Semi-Finals
and Final. The Semi-Finals and Final are picked at the same time.
4. You will earn points each round of the tournament for selecting the correct teams to advance.
Points are awarded according to the following table:
| Pick the Teams to Advance |
| Round |
Points |
| Group Stage - 1st Place in Group |
3 |
| Group Stage - 2nd Place in Group |
2 |
| Round of 16 |

Group Stage Alternate Points:
If the team you pick to finish 1st in its Group actually finishes 2nd, then you score 1 point for
correctly predicting that team to advance to the Round of 16. Similarly, if the team
you pick to finish 2nd in its Group actually finishes 1st, then you score 1 point.
To clarify, if you have both correct teams advancing to the Round of 16 from a group, but in the
wrong order, then you score 2 points instead of the maximum 5 available.
|
5. Contestants will be ranked after each stage of the World Cup based on total points
from highest to lowest.

Picks Deadline
The deadline for submitting your picks is
prior to the start of the first game each round (Group Stage, Round of 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals).
The opening game of the Group Stage is Friday June 11th at 10:00am Eastern. No picks
can be submitted after the deadline.
Point Scoring
Each team that you pick to advance a particular round of the tournament does
not need to be playing the team you predicted them to face for you to score points for the win.
Alternate Picks Submission
If you are having difficulty submitting your picks online, then send the
picks by email to
mike@myofficepool.ca. Make sure to clearly state
your user name, entry number and picks. The email must be received time
stamped prior to the deadline. We take no responsibility for email being delayed past the deadline or not
being delivered. Everyone should use the online system to make their picks and only send an email in the
case of an emergency.
Entertainment Purposes
This pool service is provided for entertainment purposes only.
If you join a pool group which requires an entry fee and/or is playing
for cash or cash equivalent prizes, it is the responsibility of the pool group administrator to collect entry fees
and distribute prizes to the winners at the conclusion of the pool.
MyOfficePool.ca, Inc. is not responsible for collection of entry fees or payment of prizes for any pool groups,
except its own separate pool group and the overall pool if it so chooses to offer a prize or prizes for the overall pool.
As a word of caution, be careful joining a pool group with an entry fee unless you know and can trust
the pool group administrator.
