New 95% Payout In Football Survivor Pool

I updated the website for this last night, and just sent a note to everyone on the mailing list as we anxiously await the start of football season this week. The news: I changed the payout structure so now 95% of the pool proceeds are paid back. There is no doubt this is better than any pool you’ll find online, unless they are in the business of losing money.

Why am I doing this? Well, I enjoy doing this (running the pools), the operation is small and I have other business ventures helping pay the bills. I figured what the heck, lets just fill this pool with as many people as possible. I just need to hold back 5% to pay some of the expenses, mostly collecting the entry fees. Not exactly the most sound or well thought out business decision in the world, but one I can certainly live with at this stage of my life and this website.

I hope you join the pool. Tough first week. I’m thinking the Pittsburgh Steelers over the Cleveland Browns, yet that does go against the “road team against a division foe” rule of survivor leagues. Maybe, the Seattle Seahawks over the Tampa Bucs? No matter which way you decide, good luck!
